Do you love making a difference? Community Services programs were meant for you, and you were meant to change the world.
If making a difference is your passion, you will find it here. You’re selfless and committed to improving the lives of others. You’re probably too humble to admit this out loud, so we said it for you…we hope you don’t mind. Now let’s talk about how we can support your career goals.
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) program provides exclusive research-based training opportunities for students. The Sault College ECE program is one of few in Ontario to offer training in programs from The Hanen Centre®. This approach to education promotes children’s social, language and literacy development. With an ECE diploma, you can register with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) to use the title of Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE). You can also continue your education at the university level by transferring eligible earned credits to partnering schools.
While we’re talking, we know you’d make a difference as a social service worker too! With two Social Service Worker (SSW) programs, you will learn through theories and approaches to support social justice and well-being along with field placements. You can specialize with the Social Service Worker - Indigenous program where you will learn how to practice with a culturally-competent approach, demonstrating an increased knowledge of Indigenous issues and interventions.
The new Biidaaban Indigenous Foundations certificate program might be the best starting place for you if you want to work on your transferable skills and education goals for success in a diploma program or beyond. From here, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners can choose to continue their education with a diploma programs right here.
